"One of the many reasons I love St John the Baptist primary school, (there are so many!) is the lovely celebration events they hold.  

Having now had one son go through this wonderful little school and another one a year into his journey, one of the reasons I wanted my boys to attend here is because it is a Church of England school.  I personally think religious celebrations are an important part of their early years' life. 

Harvest festival is a special time that the school partake in so well.  The whole school is invited to attend Harvest and it’s always so good that I have said before I would buy a ticket for it!  

Absolutely joyful, catchy songs sung by the school choir and children, with heartfelt poems written by the older pupils and read aloud so beautifully.  The school have also given all the harvest donations to Worthing food bank over the last few years - the children enjoy walking them up to the front of the Harvest service, each class taking their turn.  

The whole school are in the hall for the harvest festival, all year groups, the teachers and so many parents take time to come, plus the vicar joins us too and says a prayer and a reading.  

It’s so lovely, and there are not many schools nowadays that still do things like this.  It is one of the many ways St John’s always feels like one big family.  And Harvest festival is one of those occasions that the school family all get together and celebrate."
